Tere Naam Re-Release Box Office Day 2: Salman Khan’s Cult Classic Earns ₹50 Lakh in Two Days, Weekend Growth Expected

The cult romantic drama Tere Naam has returned to theatres, bringing back memories of Salman Khan’s iconic character Radhe Mohan. The film, which originally released in 2003, has started its second innings at the box office with a steady performance.

According to early estimates, the film earned around ₹25 lakh on Day 2, taking its two-day total to nearly ₹50 lakh nett at the Indian box office.

Day-Wise Box Office Collection

Here is the estimated collection of the film after two days of its re-release:

DayBox Office Collection
Day 1₹25 lakh
Day 2₹25 lakh (estimated)
Total₹50 lakh nett

Weekend Growth Expected on Day 3

Industry observers expect the film to witness a slight jump in collections on Day 3, which could push its opening weekend total close to ₹80 lakh.

For a film that released more than two decades ago, this would still be considered a respectable performance, especially in the current theatrical environment.

Directed by Satish Kaushik

The emotional love story was directed by the late Satish Kaushik and became one of the most memorable romantic tragedies of the early 2000s. The film’s music album was a massive hit and played a major role in building its cult status over the years.

Along with Salman Khan, the film also stars Bhumika Chawla and Ravi Kishan, whose performances contributed to the film’s emotional impact.

Ramadan Period Affects Box Office Performance

Despite strong nostalgia value, the re-release has arrived during the holy month of Ramadan, which is generally considered a slower period for cinema business.

A large section of moviegoers avoids theatre visits during this time, and since Salman Khan has a significant Muslim fanbase, the timing may have slightly affected the film’s collections.

Trade analysts believe that if the movie had been re-released during a more favorable period with wider show availability, it could have registered stronger numbers.

Clean Run Before Major Releases

One positive factor for the film is that it currently enjoys a relatively clean theatrical window before the arrival of upcoming big releases such as Dhurandhar: The Revenge and Toxic.

This gives the re-release some breathing room at the box office and may help the film sustain its run for a few more days.

Nostalgia Factor Still Working

Even after 23 years, the emotional story of Radhe Mohan continues to resonate with audiences. Many fans are returning to theatres to relive the iconic moments, dialogues, and songs that made the film a cultural phenomenon.

It remains to be seen whether the film can build further momentum in the coming days or maintain its steady pace as the re-release trend continues in Indian cinemas.
